Kalle Kunkel (of the German trade union ver.di) talks about the economization of the healthcare system in Germany and its consequences for the employees: extreme increases of workload and circumvention of collective agreements through outsourcing and privatization.

In the case of the hospital Charité, for example, a company owned by the state of Berlin, so-called "patient-remote" services were spun off into Charité Facility Management GmbH (CFM), 49% of which belongs to a private consortium. The contracts between Charité and CFM are not open to the public.
