Film about the closure of Heidenreich and Harbeck in Hamburg in 1976.
In 1972 the company was taken over by the Gildemeister AG-trust. "It started with a nice catchword that was used a lot at the time and was brought along from a meeting of the general works council by some of the works councilors (Betriebsräte): 'harmonization'. Harmonization meant cuts of the social things we had fought for and won, company pension, high seniority bonus, work clothes, etc. including the milk that was not given to painters and some others any more who had jobs that were harmful to their health. They said the milk was not healthy for them after all."
Filmed on 16mm film by the film group "Filme der Arbeiterbewegung" (Films of the Labor Movement).
