October 17th, 2013, London - 15.000 striking teachers demonstrated against the policies of Michael Gove, UK's Secretary of State for Education.

"He wants to turn the clock back 50 or 100 years, to an education system based upon a mere learning of facts, to get rid of any notion of critical thinking, narrowing down the curriculum. The Secretary of State is waging a war against education, against teachers, against all young people." 

"Gove's adviser said last week that working class children are genetically determined to fail, it is all in the genes. We don't believe in that, we believe that education offers to everyone a chance to develop."
