Furious workers squatted the bicycle factory Bike Systems in Nordhausen, Thuringia, on July 10th, 2007. The 135 men and women had almost resigned themselves to the new owner's decision to close the site at this date. but when the management told them that Lone Star was not even willing to pay compensation and outstanding salaries, enough was enough.
The workers of Bike Systems are in the focus of the documentary "Strike Bike – A Workforce Becomes Rebellious". They tell their own story - from the difficulties of organizing the occupation of the factory to the idea of producing a "Strike Bike".
