Rome, December 14, 2010. Silvio Berlusconi wins a vote of no confidence. Subsequently, tens of thousands take to the street to demonstrate against the government. They have enough reasons:
"The blackmail of FIAT-workers by [chief manager] Marchionne, precarity, homelessness, the cruelty against the earthquake victims of L'Aquila, against migrants and many more. That brought us together on December 14 - the students as well, who surprised us all with their renewed ability to articulate themselves, to organise, and to storm heaven.
The oppressed in this country have met in order to show that their opposition does not rely on those games played in the palaces of power, in order to say, we are here, and we are full of anger.
And the powers have reacted in the only way they know, by erecting walls of thugs in black, blue, and grey uniforms to defend their own sanctity. It is tautological, the thugs fight, they have no other means." (Bruno Federico)
